Vickie has worked both in Australia and the Middle East as a Producer. Her experience spans 19 years across documentaries, feature films, commercials, music videos and short dramas and teaching at Universities. She has also worked as a Production Accountant.
Her earlier work involved numerous short dramas The Anthesis of Man, Ascension, Bad Ass Mono-Winged Angel, The Kangaroo, Other People and Faithless. The films received national and international acclaim. They have screened in over 250 festivals around the world and won numerous international prizes.
Vickie made the 2008 Rare Chicken Rescue documentary which was nominated for everyone of the 5 Documentary categories at the Australian Film Institute Awards, winning Best Sound, and winning Best Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival Dendy Awards in the same year. The film went on to win Film Critics’ Award in 2009. Internationally the film won at Slamdance for Grand Jury Award Best Documentary in 2009 and nominated in many other festivals around the globe. The documentary has screened on TV Stations the world over.
Other nominated documentaries include Roller Derby Dolls and Over My Dead Body – a hard hitting science documentary looking at what happens to your body after death and who wants your body parts. The film won the Prix Du Jury Scinema Festival of Science.
Most recently Vickie co-produced the UK/Australian comedy horror Two Heads Creek.
Lauren has a background in distribution, film marketing, acquisitions and script development. She was formerly the Theatrical Acquisition and Marketing Manager for an independent Australian Distributor. During that time she attended all the major international film markets and acquired and marketed a number of highly successful mainstream films.
Recently Lauren wrote and produced short horror/comedy The Anthesis of Man, with a successful crowd funding campaign that stars talented actors Gyton Grantley and Leon Cain. The film has screened at St Kilda Film Festival, West End Film Festival, BoneBat Horror Comedy Film Festival and Austin Comedy Festival. It won Best Dark Comedy at the Austin Comedy Festival and an Award of Excellence at the IndieFEST film awards.
As the development producer behind Vizpoets, Lauren is extensively involved working with the writers of Vizpoets slate of development projects. She has also worked as a script consultant.
